The //Send SMS// and //Send iMessage// actions let you send a message to someone using Apple’s Messages application, which can generally send iMessages, and if linked to your phone, can send SMS messages as well. (!) Note: these actions rely on Apple’s Messages AppleScript support, and Apple’s Messages in Big Sur has been rewritten as a Catalyst application without any AppleScript support. As such these actions will not work in Big Sur or later unless something changes. (!) Warning: there have been cases where Messages sends the message to the wrong recipient. Do not send overly sensitive messages and verify delivery. You can select a recipient from the Contact popup menu, or use a name, email address or phone number as appropriate. (!) Note: The Contact popup menu only shows recent recipients in Messages.
