+If you have upgraded to Mohave (or later), and are having problems, start by toggling the Accessibility permissions off and on for Keyboard Maestro and Keyboard Maestro Engine.  A bug in the Mojave upgrade process results in the Accessibility permissions appearing to be on, but not actually being on which leads to failures and confusion.
