action:Simulate_Hardware_Key
The Simulate Hardware Key action lets you simulate a hardware key, such as Play or Mute.
You can optionally include any desired modifiers with the keystroke.
The available keys include:
- Brightness Up
- Brightness Down
- Caps Lock
- Contrast Down
- Contrast Up
- Eject
- Fast
- Help
- Illumination Down
- Illumination Toggle
- Illumination Up
- Launch Panel
- Mute
- Next
- Num Lock
- Play
- Power Key
- Previous
- Rewind
- Sound Up
- Sound Down
- Video Mirror
In the above list, “Brightness” refers to the screen while “Illumination” refers to the keyboard backlight.
You can optionally have the key pressed and held, or pressed and repeated, or released if you previously pressed it by selecting from the action (gear) ⚙ menu.
Note: Keys that are pressed and held stay pressed only as long as the macro continues to run.
